Ingredients
  

  • For the Beef:
  • 1 kg beef brisket or shank, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch ginger sliced
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 3-4 cups beef broth or water
  • 2-3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2-3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2-3 tablespoons sugar to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Green onions chopped (for garnish)
  • For the Garlic Rice:
  • 2 cups cooked rice preferably day-old
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste
  • For the Broth:
  • Additional beef broth optional, for serving

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot, heat the vegetbale oil over medium flame.Add the chopped garlic, onion and ginger cook until smells nice. Put beef pieces and sear until browned all the side.
  • Add water or beef broth, osyter sauce, soy sauce and black peppercorns. Boil it and then reduce the heat to let it simmer.
  • Cover the pot and allow it simmer until the beef is tender, it may take around 1.5-2 hours. Check ocassionally and then add water or broth if required.
  • Once the beef urns tender, taste the sauce and adjust salt and sugar as per your liking. Let it simmer for more 10-15 minutes to blend the flavors together.
  • In a pan, heat the oil over medium flame. Put the mincedd garlic and cook until golden brown.
  • Add the cooked rice to the pan and mix it with the garlic. Add some salt and cook until heat enough, it may take around 5-7 minutes.
  • It’s time to serve the beef pares with rice on the side. You can also pour some beef broth to the bowls if required.
  • You can add chopped green onions on top for a refreshing touch.
