Philly Cheesesteak Casserole Recipe Tips

Choose the Right Meat: Use quality meat such as thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin; the flavor of this is more authentic. Ground beef is an edible option, but it could be lacking in the traditional texture department.

Select Quality Cheese: You can try cheese like provolone or American cheese. Incorporating mozzarella or pepper jack can be a deliciously creamy and spicy option.

Sauté Vegetables: Saute the onions and bell peppers until tender and slightly caramelized. The mushrooms enhance the flavour profile and contribute to thick-textured vegetables.

Season Well: You can season the meat with salt, pepper and worcestershire sauce for flavourful depth. You may think about using Italian spice or some red pepper flakes for flavors.

Make a Creamy Cheese Sauce: Make a bechamel sauce with butter, flour, and milk. Start with the hot milk, make it stir in the cheese for a smooth, creamy-sauce-like finish.

Variations

Ground Beef Casserole: Using ground beef instead of steak makes this an economical option. The ground beef is mixed with sweet onions and bell peppers and then topped with provolone cheese to give it a deliciously creamy experience.
