Delmonico Steak Recipe

A Delmonico steak comes from the rib portion of the cow. It is named after the name of famous restaurant in New York City during the 1800s.

Ingredients
  

  • Delmonico steak bone-in or boneless
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Olive oil or butter
  • Garlic cloves, thyme, rosemary (for additional flavor)

Instructions
 

  • First of all, take the Delmonico steak out from the fridge and let it cool at room temperature for around half an hour before cooking. This will make sure that the cooking is evenly.
  • Now, heat up the pan or grill over the medium-high heat. If you are using the pan, make sure to add butter or olive oil to ensure the coating of pan at the bottom.
  • Before cooking, add the salt and pepper on each side of the steak. You can also include minced thyme, rosemary or garlic for an additional twist.
  • Once the grill or skillet is hot, place the seasoned steak on it. Now, cook each side of the steak fro around 4-5 minutes. You can alsoadjust the time as per tour doneness level.
  • You can also use meat thermometer for a great accuracy level of the meat.
  • Once the steak is cooked as per your preference level, take it out from the grill and allow it to rest for few minutes on cutting broad. It lets the juice redistribute throughout the meat.
  • After resting, cut it into thick slices against the grain. You can serve it right away with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables or salad.
