In a pan, cook the minced garlic and chopped onion over medium flame until they turn soft, it may take around 2-3 minutes.
Add the ground beef and cook until brown, break it up using a spoon as it cooks.
Mix in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt and pepper and cook for 2 more minutes to let the flavors blend together.
You can also mix in the chopped cilantro and shredded cheese, then remove it from the heat.
In a dry skillet, heat the tortillas for few seconds each side until pliable and soft. Put some filling in the middle of the tortillas.
Fold each tortilla in half, then press down gently to seal. You can also use a toothpick to close them.
In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high flame. Use enough oil to submerge at least half of the tacos.
Once the oil is hot in the pan, put the folded tacos in it. Ensure to fry the tacos in batches, prevent overcrowding. Cook them for around 2-3 minutes per side, until crispy and golden brown.
Use tongs or slotted spoon to take out the tacos and then put them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
It’s time to serve the tacos with your favourite toppings such as diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, salsa, sour cream and chopped jalapenos.
