Hot Honey Sauce Recipe

Hot honey sauce is a tasty condiment which combines the sweetness of honey with a spicy twist from hot spices or chili peppers.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1-2 tablespoons hot sauce such as Frank's RedHot, Sriracha, or your favorite hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar optional, for a tangy kick
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional, for extra heat
  • 1 clove garlic minced (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions
 

  • In a little-sized saucepan, add the honey and heat over low flame. Mix occassionally to avoid burning.
  • Once the honey is warm (avoid boiling), you can mix in your choice of hot sauce. You can begin with one tablespoon and then adjust according to your preference.
  • For a zesty flavor, you can add apple cider vinegar. If you want a bit more heat, you can mix in the minced garlic or crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Allow the mixture cook for around 2-3 minutes by mixing occassionally to enusre everything is well mixed.
  • Once the flavors are mixed and the sauce become thickened, remove it from the flame. Let it cool at room temperature before drizziling over your favourite dishes.
