Tuna Ceviche Recipe

Tuna ceviche is a delicious and refreshing meal prepared from raw tuna which ismarinated in citrusy flavors such as lemon or lime.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450g fresh tuna, diced into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice about 4-5 limes
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice about 2 lemons
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup cucumber diced
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes quartered
  • 1 jalapeño seeded and finely chopped (optional, for heat)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 avocado diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions
 

  • In a large-sized bowl, mix the tuna cubes with lemon juice and lime. Mix gently to evenly coat the tuna. Cover and put the bowl in the refrigerator until the tuna turns opaque, it may take around 15-20 minutes.
  • While the tuna is marinating, chop the cilantro, cucumber, jalapenos, cherry tomatoes and red onion.
  • Once the tuna is marinated, put the chopped cucumber, red onion, jalapenos, cherry tomatoes and cilantro to the bowl. Mix gently until everything is well combined.
  • Before serving, add diced avocado and gently stir it in. You can season it with salt and pepper to your taste.
  • It’s time to serve the tuna ceviche. You can serve it with tortilla chips on the side for scooping.
