Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • First of all, cut the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds using the back of a knife. Put the pod and saucepan on the saucepan.
  • In a medium-sized saucepan, mix sugar, milk and little bit of salt. Heat over medium-flame by stirring occasionally until the sugar is thoroughly dissolved and ensure the mixture is hot.
  • After is mixture is hot, add pod and vanilla bean seeds. Let it sit for around 10 minutes to absorb the vanilla flavor. After steeping, remove the vanilla pod.
  • Add vanilla extract and heavy cream and combine thoroughly.
  • Let the mixture cool at room temperature. Once it is done, put it in the refrigerator until chilled, it may take around 2 hours.
  • Now, pour the cold mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the instructions, it may take around 20-25 minutes.
  • Put the churned ice cream into an air-tight container and freeze until firm or for at least 4 hours.
  • It’s time to enjoy the vanilla ice cream.
