In a pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat. Add water and taco seasoning mix to the skillet with the cooked beef. Let it simmer for few minutes until the mix is thickened. Then, leave it aside.
In a little bowl, add mayonnaise, paprika, garlic powder, sour cream and cayenne pepper to prepare the sauce. Keep it aside.
Now, heat the flour tortillas in a microwave until they are soft.
In a small pan, heat a bit of vegetable oil over medium heat. Put one tortilla in the pan and include some shredded cheddar cheese on it. When the cheese starts melting, put a crunchy taco shell on the cheese. Now, press it gently so it sticks to the tortilla.
Spoon some seasoned ground beef on the crunchy taco shell. Then, fold the edges of flour tortilla around the taco shell, making a gordita.
Cook each side for few minutes until the cheese is melted and the texture is golden brown and crispy.
Perform the similar process for remaining tortillas, taco shells, cheese and ground beef.
Once you have cooked all the gorditas, add a bit of special sauce inside each one. Then, include diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce on top of sauce.
It’s time to serve the homemade cheesy gordita crunch.
