In a big pan over normal heat cook the ground beef, as it cooks break it into little pieces. Eliminate the extra fat.
Now, add the beef and chopped onions in a pan and cook until onions are seen through. Now just add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
If you’re using a stovetop, transfer the onions, garlic, browned beef to a large pot.
Now it’s time to place the diced tomatoes (undrained), kidney beans (drained) and tomato paste into the paste.
Add the beef broth, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, cumin, paprika, chili powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix everything thoroughly.
If you are using a crockpot, allow it to cook on low foraround 6-8 hours or high for around 3-4 hours. If using a stovetop, simmer on low for minimum 1-2 hours and make sure to stir it occasssionally.
Place the chili in the bowls and add shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream and green onions (chopped) from the top.
